Configuring Autoresponder Emails



After you made all the steps of the Installation if you go to System -> Configuration -> MageMonkey -> Autoresponder Emails
You have lot of configuration options detailed below.

This module will work only if you have the Mandrill module enable. Check here for Mandrill module information
Also you have to configure your Cron linking it to your Magento site. Check here to know how to do it.

Enable Autoresponder Emails module


The first option you should change is the General one.
There you can enable or disable the whole module changing the option Enabled.
The option Sender define the Emails recipient where your autoresponder emails are going to be sent. This emails are defined in System -> Configuration -> GENERAL -> Store Email Addresses

General Settings

After New Order

This option give you the chance to send a transactional email after the user place an order in your site. Sending to the user a thank you message or whatever you wish to add in it.

The option Enabled indicate if this functionality is active or not in your site.

Set email trigger: Choose whether you wish to trigger this email after some days after order or if you want to send it when order status changes.

Days after order: Once the order is made you can define the number of days you wish to send the email to the user. (Must be equal or greater than zero)

Order Status: If email trigger set to Order Status choose on what order status you wish this email to get sent.

Mail Subject: This is the text you will be sending to the user in this email. No matter you fill in the email template (System -> Transactional Emails).

Email Template: It's the transactional Email associated to this autoresponder. You can edit it in System -> Transactional Emails.

Mandrill Tag: As all the Autoresponder Emails are sent within Mandrill you can choose your Mandrill tag so you can segment and see statics when you want.

Customer Groups: You can segment which kind of users will receive this email. The customer groups are defined in Customer -> Customers Groups

Hour to send emails: Set the time for when this Autoresponder will be sent.

After new order

Related Products

This option give you the chance to send a transactional email after the user place an order in your site. Sending to the user the products related to the ones bought in the order.

In order to send this related products you should define them for each product in your store from Catalog -> Manage Products -> Related Products and link the products there.

The option Enabled indicate if this functionality is active or not in your site.

Days after order: Once the order is made you can define the number of days you wish to send the email to the user. (Must be equal or greater than zero)

Email Template: It's the transactional Email associated to this autoresponder. You can edit it in System -> Transactional Emails.

Email Subject: This is the text you will be sending to the user in this email. No matter you fill in the email template (System -> Transactional Emails).

Mandrill Tag: As all the Autoresponder Emails are sent within Mandrill you can choose your Mandrill tag so you can segment and see statics when you want.

Customer Groups: You can segment which kind of users will receive this email. The customer groups are defined in Customer -> Customers Groups

Max related products: Should be more friendly to not send a ton of related products in this email so we give you the chance to define a limit of products that will be displayed in the email.
                                            If you don't matter how many products arrive to your customer fill with 0.

In case you add a limit of products to show we explain it with an example: I made an order of 3 products which them has 5 related products each one (in total 15 related products).
I define in this option 5 Max related products. So I will receive in the email just the first 5 related products we get (Could be from any of this 3 products randomically).

Hour to send emails: Set the time for when this Autoresponder will be sent.



Product Review

This option give you the chance to send a transactional email after the user place an order in your site. Sending to the user the products they bought with the option of review them adding a link to your review section.

The option Enabled indicate if this functionality is active or not in your site.

Days after order: Once the order is made you can define the number of days you wish to send the email to the user. (Must be equal or greater than zero)

Email Template: It's the transactional Email associated to this autoresponder. You can edit it in System -> Transactional Emails.

Email Subject: This is the text you will be sending to the user in this email. No matter you fill in the email template (System -> Transactional Emails).

Mandrill Tag: As all the Autoresponder Emails are sent within Mandrill you can choose your Mandrill tag so you can segment and see statics when you want.

Order Status: Choose the status the order must have to send the transactional email.

Customer Groups: You can segment which kind of users will receive this email. The customer groups are defined in Customer -> Customers Groups.

Create Coupon?: You can create a coupon if some conditions are fulfilled.

Coupon mail Mandrill tag: Write the Mandrill tag to see statistics about this email.

Coupon mail Subject: Mail subject for the email with the coupon.

Coupon Counter: Choose if reviews should be counted per order or all orders can add reviews to the same customer.
                               (General only works for registered customers.)

Min. items reviewed per order: How many items needs to be reviewed per order to win a coupon.
                                                     (0 means all items requires a review.)

Min. item qty in Order: Order needs to have at least this quantity of items to apply for a coupon.
                                       (0 means all Orders applies.)

Max. coupons for Customer: Choose how many coupons can win the same customers from writing reviews.
                                                  (o means there's no limit.)

Hour to send emails: Set the time for when this Autoresponder will be sent.

Customer Groups for coupon: In addition to the Birthday email you can offer a coupon to specific groups (Be sure the groups you choose here are in the Customer Groups option as well). Customer groups are defined in Customer -> Customers Groups.

Notice that if you disable the Mage_Review from System -> Configuration -> Advanced -> Advanced, this functionality could not work properly.
We allow you to enable and configure it but any problem or delay caused by not complying with such requirements is your responsibility.



Before Customer Birthday

This option give you the chance to send a transactional email before your customers birthday offering if you want a discount coupon.

The option Enabled indicate if this functionality is active or not in your site.

Days before birthday: Define the number of days in advance you desire to send this email. (Must be equal or greater than zero)

Email Template: It's the transactional Email associated to this autoresponder. You can edit it in System -> Transactional Emails.

Email Subject: This is the text you will be sending to the user in this email. No matter you fill in the email template (System -> Transactional Emails).

Mandrill Tag: As all the Autoresponder Emails are sent within Mandrill you can choose your Mandrill tag so you can segment and see statics when you want.

Customer Groups: You can segment which kind of users will receive the Birthday email. The customer groups are defined in Customer -> Customers Groups

Create Coupon: If you want to send a coupon in addition to the greetings email to your customer you can activate this functionality choosing Yes and the options will appear below.

Customer Groups for coupon: In addition to the Birthday email you can offer a coupon to specific groups (Be sure the groups you choose here are in the Customer Groups option as well). Customer groups are defined in Customer -> Customers Groups.

Hour to send emails: Set the time for when this Autoresponder will be sent.

Notice that if you disable the Show Date of Birth from System -> Configuration -> Customer Configuration -> Name and Address Options this functionality could not work properly.
We allow you to enable and configure it but any problem or delay caused by not complying with such requirements is your responsibility.



No Customer Activity

This option give you the chance to send a transactional email when a Customer had no activity in a while in your site.
Customers that never placed an Order, won't be contacted by this module.

The option Enabled indicate if this functionality is active or not in your site.

Days with no activity: Since the last time your user visited your site define the number of days you wish to send the email. (Must be equal or greater than zero)

Email Template: It's the transactional Email associated to this autoresponder. You can edit it in System -> Transactional Emails.

Mail Subject: This is the text you will be sending to the user in this email. No matter you fill in the email template (System -> Transactional Emails).

Mandrill Tag: As all the Autoresponder Emails are sent within Mandrill you can choose your Mandrill tag so you can segment and see statics when you want.

Customer Groups: You can segment which kind of users will receive this email. The customer groups are defined in Customer -> Customers Groups.

Hour to send emails: Set the time for when this Autoresponder will be sent.

Notice that the customer must have made a purchase for this autoresponder to work, otherwise the email will not be sent.




After Wishlist Add

This option give you the chance to send a transactional email after a user add products to the wishlist.

The option Enabled indicate if this functionality is active or not in your site.

Days after wishlist add: Since the moment your user added the products to the wishlist define the number of days you wish to send the email. (Must be equal or greater than zero)

Email Template: It's the transactional Email associated to this autoresponder. You can edit it in System -> Transactional Emails.

Mail Subject: This is the text you will be sending to the user in this email. No matter you fill in the email template (System -> Transactional Emails).

Mandrill Tag: As all the Autoresponder Emails are sent within Mandrill you can choose your Mandrill tag so you can segment and see statics when you want.

Customer Groups: You can segment which kind of users will receive this email. The customer groups are defined in Customer -> Customers Groups.

Hour to send emails: Set the time for when this Autoresponder will be sent.

Notice that if you disable the Mage_Wishlist from System -> Configuration -> Advanced -> Advanced this functionality could not work properly.
We allow you to enable and configure it but any problem or delay caused by not complying with such requirements is your responsibility.


Visited Products

This option give you the chance to send a transactional email after a user visit some products.

The option Enabled indicate if this functionality is active or not in your site.

Number of days to wait before sending emails: Since the moment your user visited the products (go to the product page) define the number of days you wish to send the email. (Must be equal or greater than zero)

Seconds elapsed to consider a product visited: Here you can define the rules of time your user stay in the product page. The values goes from Immediate to 1 minute. This can give you a range of time to consider if your user it's really interested in the product or goes by mistake.

Email Template: It's the transactional Email associated to this autoresponder. You can edit it in System -> Transactional Emails.

Email Subject: This is the text you will be sending to the user in this email. No matter you fill in the email template (System -> Transactional Emails).

Mandrill Tag: As all the Autoresponder Emails are sent within Mandrill you can choose your Mandrill tag so you can segment and see statics when you want.

Customer Groups: You can segment which kind of users will receive this email. The customer groups are defined in Customer -> Customers Groups

Max number of products to include in emails: You can define the maximum of products to add in the email. Could be that your user visited a lot so in this option you can limit the quantity. if you don't want to apply any maximum complete it with 0.

Hour to send emails: Set the time for when this Autoresponder will be sent.


Important! With this functionality we created a new attribute in your catalog. So if you want to have this working you should mark the attribute Send Browsed Product Autoresponder in Catalog -> Manage Products indicating you want to use this product to "Send Browsed Product Autoresponder". By default all products are disabled.

Notice that after enabling this function its recommended to flush the caché in System>Caché Management to make sure it starts working properly.



Also have in mind that if the User made an order between the day he/she visited the product and the day the Autoresponder Email should be sent and the visited product is included in it, the email will not be sent at all.
The same happens in case you have the Abandoned Cart module enabled and in this period an abandoned cart is sent. In this case the autoresponder is not sent also.

Another restriction is that this Autoresponder doesn't work with guest users (NOT LOGGED IN)


Coupon configuration


Customer Groups for coupon: In addition to the email you can offer a coupon to specific groups. Customer groups are defined in Customer -> Customers Groups.

Option: You have two options here. Automatic: You can add a coupon automatically or Specific: You can use an existing coupon. In this case you won't have the options below and you will require to add the coupon code in the Coupon Code field.

Expires On: Expressed in days. Amount of days that Coupon will be available. After this days, Coupon will no longer be available and will expire.

Coupon Length: Length of characters of the Coupon code.

Discount Type: You can choose to set a Fixed amount or a Percentage type of discount to apply to the Cart Total.

Discount Amount: Expressed as a number. Indicates the amount of discount to be applied by the Coupon.
If you assign 50 in this field and you choose Fixed amount, the Coupon will give a $50 discount. If you selected Percentage as a type, it will apply a 50% discount to the Cart Total.

Label for Coupon: Label to display in Checkout when Customer applies the Coupon.

Enable: Set this to "Yes" to activate email notification when a customer subscribes to get notified if a certain product  is back in stock.
              (To subscribe to this notification the customer needs to go to a product view which is out of stock and subscribe at the bottom of the page)

Email Template:  It's the transactional Email associated to this autoresponder. You can edit it in System -> Transactional Emails.

Email Subject: This is the text you will be sending to the user in this email. No matter you fill in the email template (System -> Transactional Emails).

Mandrill Tag: As all the Autoresponder Emails are sent within Mandrill you can choose your Mandrill tag so you can segment and see statics when you want.

Allow Guests to be notified: Set this to "Yes" to allow guests to subscribe for this notification.

Hour to send emails: Set the time for when this Autoresponder will be sent.
